What "anonymous" means here
On SecureChitChat, being anonymous means you do not build a public identity. There is no account, no email, no password, and no public profile that people can visit. You appear to other users only through the display name you choose and the basic details you enter — age, country and gender.
It also means there is no permanent chat history. A session is temporary and expires, and messages are held in the open page rather than stored as a transcript.
What the browser and the network still involve
The service runs in your browser, and that has limits that no website can remove. Your browser still connects over the internet, which means connection-level details (such as your IP address and connection quality) are handled by your network and internet provider just as they are on any site. The app does not attempt to hide internet-level information.
A small copy of your guest session is kept in browser local storage so the site works across tabs. The app tells your browser what the session is and clears it when you leave — the Privacy Policy describes this in plain terms.
What the person you talk to sees
Your chat partner sees your display name and the profile details you entered, and they see every message you type, live. There is no way for the service to control what another person does with what they see: anyone can screenshot a conversation on any chat app, and a screenshot is not governed by how long the session lasts.
Because the chat is text-only, a partner cannot send you links, photos or files to phish with — but that does not stop them from asking for your details in words.
Where anonymity can be lost
The most common way anonymity disappears is voluntary: telling someone your phone number, school or workplace, address, social account, or an identifiable photo. Once you share it, the detail is in the hands of the person you are talking to.
