Why report
Reporting helps keep the service safer for everyone. We review reports individually, but because conversations are temporary and not permanently stored, the earlier you report, the easier it is to act.
What to include
You do not need every detail — any information helps. If you can provide the following, it will speed up the review:
- The other user's display name — even a partial name or a description can help.
- Approximate time of the incident — your local time or an approximate time window is enough.
- A brief description of what happened — stick to the facts as you experienced them.
- Any screenshots you may have taken — they are not required but can be helpful.

What happens next
Reports are reviewed as promptly as possible. If a user has violated the Terms of Service, appropriate action may be taken, which can include restricting access. Because sessions are temporary, not every report results in a definitive conclusion.
We do not send status updates for every report, but every report is read and used to understand patterns of behaviour on the service.
When to contact emergency services
SecureChitChat is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency number or law-enforcement authorities first. Do not rely on the report-abuse process for urgent or life-threatening situations.
